BRALY, Harold Hyde (b. June 3, 1879 San Jose, CA; d. December 12, 1931 ? Chandler Gardens north east corner area)
A civil engineering graduating from the University of California, Braly work in mining and public works before serving as director and vice president of the Janss Investment Company of Los Angeles. The company purchased 5,400 acres of land in Ventura County which Braly managed. Four hundred acres were planted with beans and 3,100 acres were planted with corn, grains and alfalfa and the rest was used as grazing ground for cattle.
Braly grew up in Fresno and San Diego before the family moved to Los Angeles in 1891. He spent two years at Princeton University and returned to California obtaining his degree in civil engineering.
Braly worked as an engineer for the Riverside Power Company and later as partner for the Los Angeles based Cornish & Braly ? a real estate and insurance firm. He was a member of the LA Country Club and the LA Athletic Club.
Braly married the former Henrietta Janss in April of 1903. | BRALY, Harold Hyde (I5714)
